Jonathan Landau - CEO & Founder

Jonathan Landau is CEO & Founder of JL Hospitality. Jonathan has 15 years of sales, business development and hospitality experience. He began his hospitality career with the award-winning San Diego Convention Center before branching out to the international meetings community. Prior to launching JL Hospitality, Jonathan was VP Business Development for boutique agency Meetings Global where he managed small programs to citywide conventions in North & South America, Europe and Asia.

He takes pride in providing the highest level of customer service to his clients, colleagues and partners alike. Jonathan grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and holds a BA degree in Sociology from University of California, San Diego and a Masters degree in Management from San Diego Sate University.


Francine Fyne - Advisory Council 

Francine Fyne Basson is President of Global Accounts for Meetings Global. Francine has 20 years of hotel and travel industry experience, including Hotel Manager at the prestigious Westbury, New York and sales experience at the National Sales Office of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, New York. For the past decade, Francine has helped clients find destinations for their domestic and international conferences and conventions.

She is an expert in world destinations and has helped plan and execute many conventions abroad and in the United States. Francine holds a degree in Hotel and Catering Management from London, England, her home town.


Francis P. McVeigh, Jr. - Advisory Council

Francis McVeigh is President and CEO of McVeigh Associates. Francis is one of the pioneers of the meetings industry with over 40 years of experience in the field. Francis was instrumental in forming McVeigh Associates in the summer of 1990. Over the past decades, his industry knowledge and presence has enabled him to develop McVeigh Associates into a leading meeting management company.

Prior to McVeigh Associates, Francis was the President of Travel Destinations Unlimited of New York. During his six years at the helm, Travel Destinations sales growth was in excess of 35 million dollars with nine branch offices dedicated to meetings, incentives, & corporate travel. Francis holds a BA degree in Professional Management from Pace University and MBA degree in Economics from Long Island University.


Darryl Leavitt, CMP - Advisory Council

Darryl Leavitt is Market Event Manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a leading audit and assurance, tax and consulting services firm. Darryl has been in the meeting planning industry for over 21 years and has held the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) for 14 years. Darryl has worked in several industries, including Telecommunications, Publishing, Retail, Gaming & Video, PR & Marketing, Semiconductor, International Events and the Accounting World.

Besides being active with MPI, Darryl constantly follows new trends, changes, technology and venues to keep himself educated. “Being a well rounded meeting planner means being the best,” he commented . Darryl wants to share his knowledge with young people interested in our field so that they learn about the complexity of today’s meeting & events environment. Darryl will drive JL Hospitality’s efforts to develop the next generation of hospitality leaders.


Gabriel Haigazian - Advisory Council

Gabriel Haigazian is Vice President for Creative Travel Planners- CTP Group - out of Los Angeles. Gabriel managed client accounts with Martiz Travel for 10 years prior to his tenure with the CTP Group. Gabriel has visited more than 100 countries during his action-packed career in incentive travel. He was born in Ethiopia and enrolled in travel school after high school and has never looked back. “I love airplanes, airports, airlines…. everything to do with travel. Despite the changes, complexities and craziness of this industry, I love what I do - and it shows!”

Gabriel has traveled to some of the most remote and exciting destinations, like the world-famous ICE Hotel in Sweden. Gabriel was Past President of the Southern California Chapter for the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and is a well-known and respected travel professional worldwide.


Darrell Benning - Advisory Council

Darrell Benning is Principal and Owner of San Diego Meetings and Incentives. He has been in the travel and meetings industry for more than 20 years and has planned and executed hundreds of exciting programs all over the world. From London, England - his homeland- to Macchu Picchu tours in Peru to cruise ship charters in the Greek Isles.

Darrell is past President of the Southern California Chapter for the Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), and on the advisory council of the Institute for Meetings & Events at San Diego State University.


Tom Hinton - Advisory Council

Tom Hinton is president & CEO of CRI Global, LLC, an international association management company established in 1987 that also plans meetings and events for corporate and association clients.

Tom is the author of five books and a popular speaker at industry events on the topics of Work-Life Balance, Culture Shift and Employee Engagement. He is based in San Diego, CA.
